Giving
The Cove’s Philosophy of Giving stems from a believer's obligation to be a wise steward of all the resources with which God has blessed him/her. Financial contributions are not “payments for services” they are acts of stewardship, done in obedience and hope; obedience to God’s commands and hope that God will use both what we give and the fact that we give to cause his kingdom to grow in us and around us. At The Cove we understand that giving of our material resources for the kingdom of God is a significant part of our worship. We also believe that we as the church are to be meticulous in how we handle those resources entrusted to us.
The Cove provides a number of ways to give financially. For each of the following methods, please be sure to indicate whether your gift is for general operating budget or a designated fund.
Sunday Giving
Each Sunday at The Cove a specific moment in the service is set aside to worship God through the giving of tithes and offerings. We encourage the use of our pre-printed envelope system and invite you to participate. Personal Online Banking
You can submit your gift amount through your personal bank’s online bill payment service. Indicate The Cove as your payee and use this mailing address:

Your bank will send the payment, and we will record it towards your giving records just as if you had written the check yourself. If the gift is for a restricted purpose, please notate that in the memo field.
Online Giving through PayPal

Donations of Stock
Stock may be donated to The Cove by transferring stock securities to our accounts at either Charles Schwab & Co. Inc. or Citigroup Global Markets Inc. Please call or email our Finance Coordinator, Eileen Haynes (eileen@fpcsantarosa.org) for account information and also to notify The Cove of any pending transfers so that we can be aware of any activity and handle it properly.
There can be a worthwhile personal tax advantage in giving stock to the church. For appreciated stocks held more than one year you can deduct the full market value at the time of the transfer and you will not be taxed on the capital gains.
All stock gifts given to The Cove are sold immediately and directed to the ministry fund(s) of the donor’s choice. For broker to broker transfer of gift of stock please call the Finance Coordinator to get the account information, which can be provided, to your broker.
Receipts
You will receive a receipt of your tax-deductible gifts in accordance with IRS requirements. You will receive a summary of your gifts per government standards in January of the following year.
