Purpose

Presbyterian Charities was founded in 2010 to serve the needs of the local community for food, shelter, clothing, health care, legal work and educational opportunities.

Presbyterian Charities will be initiated by The Cove, but we hope to include all Presbyterian congregations in Sonoma County and many other organizations and individuals who are committed to the cause of sharing the love of God, the truth of Christ and the presence of the Sprit to those in need.

The Lord has blessed us with land and with neighbors who have needs. Our primary needs at this point are for dry and canned food so that we will always have something to share with those in need. We give out food as often as we can and as generously as we can.

Phases of Development

The development of Presbyterian Charities is planned in phases. Phase one is complete; phases 2 and 3 are currently underway.

Phase 1: Book drive for the under-resourced. We have been giving away 10,000 books a year for 5 years at the City Kids festival.
Phase 2: Food pantry. It is up and running.
Phase 3: Temporary housing program
Phase 4: Healthcare fair
Phase 5: Clothing closet for winter coats and scarves. Currently we do not have space for this project.
Phase 6: Tutoring program
Phase 7: Citizenship program
